Question

Everyone asks me is that for the adjusting the brightness of the entire instrument panel and I say ,no its for the clock. And then they all say, What clock?.And I usually end up having to point to the clock to show them where it is.Its just that I havnt seen a car that has a button for such a useless function. And does the new model have this?

Yes the new model has one too!!! but its on the stalk this time (left hand stalk) and yes it is a complete waste of time - I wish they would spend the money on something better, say, an analogue clock centrally spaced on the dash??

What does everone else reckon on what the money could be better spent on?

Wink

KEVIN 2000

The brightness adjuster on the indicator stalk is for adjusting the brightness of the WHOLE dash.

That is: the actual instrument pinnacle together with the cd/tape/radio and the lighting surrounding the air-con controls.

As for the clock...don't know about that one..havent paid any attention to it. Scooby gets me where i want to be before time. haha

I am talking about the MY01 new impreza (not the old one) I just picked up last Friday..(Magnificent car...best transport I have ever owned...

Bright button has no real use! But, wow your mates into thinking it's nitrous.
If they haven't been in a scooby b4, they wouldn't be able 2 tell either way !

Had a "variable" option in a clio16v - If I was drifting off I used to wack it up to full brightness which normally hurt my eyes.

Absolutely useless

would have loved to see Sat. navigation fitted in the new scooby poo, as they have put a BIG area for the standard CD player!!!! theres enough room there to have easily fitted a screen with the Sat stuff in!!!
also the screen to be a 4 DVD/video player as well
oh and it could be used with a playstation
oh and main TV too watch TopGear!
oh and to watch Driven as well!!!!!

am i getting carried away?????????
has the price of the car gone upto £60K????

Red face

Well Mr Bugman I am talking about the "Old" model Impreza which 99% of us have and the button does not increase the brightness of the whole dash.Only the clock.

The button's a complete waste of a switch!

I've got one in my P1. I guess they've fitted it to give a sense of value for money - Shahhh!

Sometimes it's embarrasing explaining what the switch actually does.

Have some fun, stick a "faster" sticker over it.

Question

In Japan do they have a "BLIGHT" button?

Are we missing something in the translation?

Question

Further useless gear......
UK Forester has headlight height adjustment - nice but pointless when the self level rear suspension is acheiving the same thing
