All this scratchin's, makin me itch!
My front and rear bumpers are not quite a pristine as they once were due to the apparent inability of Londoners to park in the street without using my car some kind of passive acoustic parking aid and my own error of judgement last winter when I came across some fresh snow on top of black ice!
Some of these scratches have gone through the DBM paint and have exposed the black plastic of the bumper skin.
Can anyone tell me roughly how much work (and cost) would be involved in.
a). replacing both front a rear skins with new, painted ones. (Are these dealer supplied ready painted or would the bodyshop have to do a clour match?)
b). Alternatively, a rough estimate for just having them refinished in situ.
Also, my inner wheel arch 'plastic shrouds' have also parted company with the lower trailing edge of the front bumper skins.
Does anyone have a quick fix for this or do you need to replace them too?
If I did these jobs (and had the wheels refinished) then it would look almost as good as new (MY00, 25k miles)
Cheers,

I had my rear bumper redone, it had a dozen or so chips down to the black plastic. Total cost £200 for a full bumper respray. Total respray is the way to go as the finish is much better - something to do with not having to blend new laquer into old.
I suppose you can double that price for both bumpers?

Thanks for the reply Jay.
IMO, it's a shame that you cannot buy a pre-painted bumper off the shelf!
Subaru have such a narrow choice of colours, I'd have thought that FHI/IM might have chosen to stock a quantity of ready painted skins. But then again, their dealers have to be allowed to make money somehow!
