Question Sti Type 20

Gents.

Got any info on these beasts? I've looked on Litchfields + there is little there re the Type 20, what there is (Jap Mag article) is too small to see ...

Searched Scoobynet as well + couldn't find anything ...

There's a Type 20 for sale on Ebay + it looks rather TASTY!

I'm glad to hear it! Do you have a website or anything where I can take a look at the full Spec + some pics (please)?

Here's the Flea Bay link:

£17k sounds like a really good price, I just paid Litchfield £28k for a year old t25

If it anything like the t25 then its a brilliant car and very different any scooby you will have driven before.

Smooth power delivery
Very different sound
No understeer
No lag and loads of low down grunt
And above all, ridiculously fast

If you've got £17k to spend on a scoob then buy this car

Default Type 20 - do it!

Here is a pic of my Type 20 - mine is based on an 04 UK STi PPP so has all the same mods as the on E-bay (he had that in the trader a couple of weeks ago for 19,500 so it is a bargain now!)

I have posted up before about the difference the T20 kit makes:-

Here:
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=497818

And here:
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=465458

Buy that car (if it all checks out OK of course), try to drive a standard STi before you drive that one to really get a feel for just what a difference the kit makes. I think just the exhaust noise will make you want it, let alone its abilities in the twisties. Its got 90% of the T25s abilities and as the post above makes clear for a lot less ££££ - on the road there would be nothing in it, on track the advantage to the T25 would be smaller than you might expect - given even drivers!

This is exactly what T20 kit means:

MY01+
Street Legal Package
EcuTek Re-Map
3" Milltek Exhaust with Sports CAT
K&N Filter
~320bhp @ £1350 (Used to be £1600 plus VAT!)
inc. Comprehensive Warranty (Didn't come with a warranty when I bought mine so you may want to consider that)

Stage 3 - T25 Spec Kit
AST Sport-Line Suspension Kit
Rear Adjustable Roll Bar
Anti-Lift Kit
Front Adjustable Roll Bar
4-Wheel Alignment
£1400 + VAT

The reason he is advertising so much more power than the 320 quoted above is that his car is a JDM spec so has the uprated jap engine/twin scroll turbo etc so is more tunable, especially it get more torque. My UK Spec T20 runs 330/301 for comparison and I am mighty happy with it. Mind you with those performance figures I would check it still has the CAT...easier to get those figures without as Shaun the Webmasters posts show.

The bailey DV and PFF7's, Mud Flaps, Grilles etc are all additional to the T20 Kit - the PFF7's are worth a good few hundred extra on their own.

If you want more info on T20 give PowerStation a call they will be very helpful I am sure.

Cheers,

Mark

Ummm....nope it has a T25 handling kit and the full T20 engine upgrades....which makes it a Type 20 I believe. I already stated it started life as an STi UK PPP and it has had the full T20 upgrades.

Its a Type 20 the rest is just semantics...

You can have it based on a Spec C (roughly £1K more IIRC)

As you might have guessed from my User name I have a Litchfields Type 20 - a MY05 one to be exact.

Essentially the Type 20 is a Type 25 without the 2.5 ltr engine upgrage.

Nice cars as has been reported here ... and I'd say £17k for a MY04 one with a few extras is excellent value.

BTW .. the main difference between the MY04 and MY05 is the newer interior if I remember rightly ... but I may be wrong.

Actually the change from MY04>05 was much more significant. MY05 gained the Spec C chassis and extended wheelbase, larger hubs, uprated diffs, engine mods, climate control, and no doubt other changes that I've forgotten.

My '05 JDM car is FS @ Litchfields right now and has the suspension mods already - it only needs the exhaust & remap to complete the full T20 package. Could be a lot of fun for anyone who's interested...

Andy.

That's a great looking car, the shine from the paintwork would probably dazzle passing motorists on a sunny day!!

What car have you got now?

You've obviously seen all the Swissol stuff in my garage then

My drive to work these days is just 10 miles or so of badly maintained dual carriageway, so I now have a BMW 330d - more comfy, less thirsty.

Still miss the scoob, though. I'm starting to think about getting an early WRX or STI as a weekend/track toy...
