Default How to stop I/C water spray water smelling?

Apart from using it a lot

Just been cleaning the boot out and the water in the container was very stale and the top of the container is slimey!
Is there anything I can put in it to stop it happening again?

Hi mate,
i am nearly sure you can buy some kind of stuff to put in the tanks which stops slime and smell. I think you can get it from halfords and such places.
Hope that helps Graham.

Distilled water if you want to be bling, otherwise just use it more

Maybe a bit of vinegar in there? I'm sure that's what Kim and Aggie would do.

You are meant to use distilled water in it - stops the nozzle from blocking up.

Got huge tanks of distilled water littered around my plant. Guess these will be my source of I/C water

I think I'll go down that route! Anything else will give off a smell when it hits the intercooler!
Thanks Urban!

Stagnant water with slime suggests you're not using the spray very often!
Try and get the bottle empty in a month at least!

How about a squirt of methanol in with the water, evaporates easy and chills better

don't go OTT with the methanol as spraying it onto hot metal will give you a whole new flamer kit experience.

I seem to remember the aquamist site has a sticky on where to get methanol

As methanol is totally miscible with water then as a 50 / 50 mix it's not flamable when used as an IC spray..............if it gets into the cylinders then thats a different matter........LOL

I have a Spec C tank and an aquamist kit ready to fit for methanol injection.....just need to find the time
