Airbox Pipe loose! Advice Please.
Was checking oil level etc. earlier today on my car (MY02 WRX) and noticed that the Pipe connecting the Airbox and Turbo Inlet Pipe was loose and had come partially off, at the Airbox end. Reckon this is because the jubilee was loose which must not have been tightened correctly after the last service?
Anyway, I'm not sure how long I have been driving with this loose / partially off but am supprised that a few things haven't happened.
1. No CEL - if this pipe was not sealed correctly wouldn't this show up?
2. The car has never missed a beat and hasn't seemed to be down on power, but with this pipe partially off surely the car was not giving full performance? I only drive the car every few weeks and the performance always seems great after driving my Diesel Vectra - so I may not have noticed?
3. Will this have caused any damage (I'm pretty sure not - just checking).
Anyway, I reconnected the pipe and tightened the jubilee and all seems fine, although I have not driven the car yet.
What do people think on the above 3 points?
