Andy F @ Redline Rumble today (Santa Pod)
Good to see Andy has rebuilt his car after that Elvington incident in the wet.
The crappy weather meant a big delay in getting things started but when it did there were some serious times being put down.
First qualifying run saw CRD with their Supra do a 10.0 pass.
Andy did a 11.xx. Ron Kiddell did a mighty 9.9 and things were hotting up.
Only 15 cars in the God of the Pod compo. Andy Nicholls gave up after 1 run in his MG.
Anyway...CRD then did a 9.6 sec run which put it top of qualifying.
Andy did a 9.7 and 9.8 I think. Ron K did another 9 sec pass and the winner would be 1 of these 3 contenders.
1st Q/F was CRD vs someone. CRD won but never made it back to pits...something broke and so he stayed up in the top end of the drag strip.
2nd Q/F was Andy F vs Jun Hyper Lemon Skyline R33. Andy nailed a perfect launch once more and did a 9 sec run to be comfortably in semis.
3rd Q/F was Darren Blyth (2nd RK car) vs Big Dub (Twin VR6 Turbo Engine)
Darren won with 11sec run.
4th Q/F was Fensport Celica vs Ron Kiddell. Ron had problems off the line and Fensport won crossing the line first with a 11sec pass.
1st Semi. BYE run for Darren B as CRD forfeited. Does a 10.8 super run.
2nd Semi. Andy F vs Fensport. Good launch from both but the scooby is flying this afternoon and posts another 9.7sec run vs a 11.x from Fensport.
I left b4 the final but on that form I can only see Andy F winning the final battle providing nothing goes bang on his car.
Mighty impressive and should be a top contender at Scooby Shootout and TOTB this year.

ah excellent news.
He should win as the Yellow RK Skyline has less power and can only do low 10's at its best.
One thing surprised me tho when I looked at the engine bay on Andy's car - No intercooler!
Its a short straight pipe from Turbo to intake manifold. Must be one custom bit of exhaust manifold too as the turbo is at the front of the engine bay like an Evo lol. Exhaust pipe exiting out in front of the front right wheel too just like RC Developments car.

Andy broke a drive shaft on his first run, replaced it, and ran a leisurely 11.07, just to get a run in.
Best time was 9.77, and a 150.5 terminal.
Not bad for his first run out, and only runing low boost !

What a day, me and a couple of mates flew over from belfast this morning and home again tonight. Andy's car was brilliant, he really is up there with all the skylines etc. Ive got loads of photos here, just getting them all of the camrea and ill stick a few up

It may not have an 'intercooler' but can we be sure it doesn't have a water filled cooler, (brain not working, can't remember what it's called....) as there would appear to be a radiator type cap on top of the engine.....?????
Looks well shiney under the bonnet.... shame the pic was a bit dark though.....
