Clifford Alarm, Need some HELP!!
Maybe someone can help or point me in the right direction.
It all started the other day when i was driving and the alarm started going off, i was confused but pressed the alarm fob and the alarm stopped. There were no other problems for a day or two. The the alarm started to go off for no reason when parked outside the house, there was nothing i could do to stop it, the alarm just kept going off. In the end i managed to get it to stop.
But today it has done it again and there was nothing that i could do to get it to stop, the alarm just kept going off. If i press the alarm fob the doors just lock and unlock. If i try and start the car the alarm keeps going off. In the end i had to disconnect the battery and wait for a while until the alarm finished going off. I presume the internal battery went flat.
Is there anything that anyone could think that is causing this. Is there anything that i can do. Or is it going to be an expensive trip to the alarm shop.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Next time this happens and you manage to disarm it when you turn the ignition on the alarm LED will flash a certain number of times. Count the flashes and then have a look in your alarm manual to find out what triggered it.

probalby a stupid question but have you tried calling clifford or a clifford installer?
it could be one of a thousand faults.
Also have you changed anything on your car recently which may have disturbed the alarm ie stereo.
I'm no expert, so people dont shoot me down in flames , i'm just posing a possible cause.

Thanks for that reply, funny thing is that it done it yesterday when it pissed it down with rain. I have previously had the rear light clusters out so i will check around there for leaks.
I have not yet called the clifford dealer i was going to on Monday, i will take a look around the boot area tommorow, could be something related.
Thanks for the replies.

WRX,
One of your contacts is shorting. If you have one of those pin switches under the bonnet that releases itself as the bonnet is opened, causing the alarm to go off, then you will find that water ingress is causing a short and causing the alarm to go off.
You have 3 solutions to the problem:
1) Relocate the switch to a position where water can't get to it but where it can still do the job it was designed for.
2) Get a new switch, especially if the old one is showing signs of rust.
3) Apply some axle grease to the switch and shaft to stop water ingress.
Note - This might apply to other switches you may have connected to the alarm., eg door switches.
Hope this helps.
