On the bonnet. They're between the wipers and the bonnet vents, in the middle. HTH.

I really doubt your car will blow up with the current one.

Even if some of the stuff I've seen posted here is correct - how often do you imagine you will be doing sustained 100mph+ runs? Not on public highways I hope

If it's just for cosmetic purposes though - go for it

the car we have is an old model, a 95 wrx wagon and i'd rather be safe than sorry!
i doubt if bf would be able to keep running at 100mph all the time, no that would be silly as it is illegal, but there are times he does like to open up on private land so it would come in handy. but what puzzles me is if its for cosmetic reasons why say go for it?

mainly for performance reasons and mainly so the car don't go bang. david had a poor bloke at api today who's scooby went bang doing 120 and that was in germany and he'd even brought his car from all that way to get it fixed by api.

Because then you are buying it for a valid reason - it will (in your opinion) make you car look better.

I doubt there are many cars your age with different scoops and they all survive.

My car is an import - 02 Wagon. Did 37K unmodded before I bought it - nearly all motorway commuting using normal unleaded. It should have gone bang in the first week if you listen to some on here.

I did a couple of mods and so had it remapped - now done nearly 60K and so far no problems at all.

I really don't think these cars are as delicate as some make out - unless you start changing things without knowing what you are doing.

our's is an import too bedhog and understand where you coming from. one of the next things we are considering is getting it remapped but when you hear all the horror stories on here about what goes wrong i'd just prefer it if we took the car to someone like david who does know his stuff and makes a mean cup of coffee!!!

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=514886

Look there - some guy bolts on a different turbo and expects it to go quicker.

That, I believe, is the main problem with engines going bang.

OK, I'm sure a few standard ones have to - but they aren't that bad!!

Why can't you enjoy the car as it is for a bit and get to know it before you start trashing it? There's more than enough performance as it is for most drivers' skill, barring the brakes which you ought to be looking at. Your threads so far suggest that you have a completely dotty approach to life. Do you have a big crystal on the dash to focus lucky energies?

no bubba i don't as i can't drive, ah shock horror!!!!

the brakes were the first thing we had done the minute we brought the car. done the same day as was the exhaust!!!!
then we had to get the head gasket sorted, then we had it derestricted and then we had the rad changed. i can't see how we are going over the top with it????

I meant uprated brakes, as on the MY99 onwards, not just new discs and pads. Even these are only just good enough for spirited driving on the roads.

I've had mine for three years and I've changed nothing. I still scare myself when I take it for a bezz. Perhaps it's because I'm old.
