really could do with a few tips
Hi all, In need of some help...ive seen this chip for £195.00 and with my ecu having a spare slot to put this chip in i thought hmmmmm sounds good....it also takes the limiter off my jap 95 spec 260ps model, power gains are good, heres what it says:
The ESL ECU Daughterboard
Has been designed to allow pre August 1996 Turbo charged Imprezas to be remapped. It has been designed to emulate the long obsolete Fujitsu 27C1028 EPROM. Using modern design and surface mount production techniques we have improved on the performance of the original chip and overcome the issue of obsolescence. We will be supporting this product for the foreseeable future.
The key features of the map include:
* Increase in boost to 1.1bar, giving up to 300 bhp dependant on supporting modifications.
* Better fuel economy when cruising.
* Improved boost control
* Modified ignition timing to make the remap suitable for UK super unleaded fuels without the need for Octane Booster
* Removal of the vehicle speed limiter for imported vehicles.
* Will not illuminate your Check Engine Light as uses the correct software base code for the Impreza
* Produced 286bhp on a 93WRX with a tuned induction and exhaust on a 'realistic' rolling road.
The product is suitable for any pre August 1996 Impreza. Different maps have been developed for different Impreza variants so we need to know the model year and model type when ordering
I thought this and a apexi boost controller would work well, ive got simota induction kit and a magnex back box....and will be purchasing a walbro fuel pump as my standard one has seen its day...would this be a no no or great!!! would any other parts be needed.
Thanks
Bob

Probably mate
Gotta see how much my wheel bearings are going to set me back first.
Am going to get an Apexi ECU soon, but am tempted to get this chip and keep the Z4 + chip as a spare when i do upgrade.

Is that the power fc and commander?? nice but pricey...im on a budget and i shouldnt be too far off 300bhp with this chip as my jap is 260ps standard....think about 257bhp if i remember. Not sure if the apexi boost controller would help aswell but someone will point me in the right direction.
