Good plan Mr Taylor

Summary:

Disadvantages are a tiny bit more lag, chop holes in inner wing, bumper and other things.

Advantages are better intercooling (obviously), no heat soak, high speed safety, also looks like you want trouble

Ahh, I was told this before I fitted my FMIC. The car had previously been mapped by Andy F with the TMIC and it made 1bar boost @ 2950rpm (TD05). With the hybrid FMIC, it makes 1Bar @ 2920rpm. Therefore, once properly mapped after fitting, you can assume that there will be no noticable difference in lag.

I took ages to go front mount because of the whole lag thing but its made HUGE differance to the car and I cant see any lag. After map of course.

That's your boost threshold, lag is as the name suggests the time between something and something else i.e. WOT and boost.

It's just that istead of a piddly little cooler and 2" pipe, you've got 10 yards of hardpipe and a cuba-sized cooler, so there is a LOT more air to get moving. Depends on your turbo really... some will have no trouble filling that volume.
