How can you tell if an imprezza has 305ps upgrade?
As the question states how can you tell if the upgrade has been carried out?
What changes are made over the 265ps model to gain the extra power?
I see black 04 plate up for sale down the road from me and it's claimed it's the 305ps model but the salesman was not too confident sounding when he said it. It's a private dealer and the car was not on premises at the time but should be when i go back

However
My car was fitted with the prodrive ecu and fuel pump jobbies by the first owner, the car develops around 305 bhp,but the first owner bought the items private, had them fitted/set up etc, thus i dont have a certificate of fitment,i asked my dealer if they checked the items were o.e prodrive spec could they supply a certificate, and they could not as it wasnt bought/fitted by them
also,my car has an aftermarket exhaust system,so this takes away the "prodrive" stamp on the rear can

The Certificate should be in with the logbook - it's a very official looking document, in Prodrive Blue, and not the sort of thing you'd throw away I hope, so if it's not there then that casts some doubt.
Last thing is to check with Subaru themselves - try phoning them directly ?
Unless you want to start getting into mechanics world I don't think there's much else you can do - the fuel pump gets changed, the ECU is changed - you'll not be able to see any of that.
Martin.

If its got round Prodrive backbox its almost def a PPP model. This pipe cannot be bought separately from PPP pack. They will only sell u an oval shaped one unless u buy PPP. If its got an oval one therefore its not PPP!!

If its anything like an MY02 STI in performance it will go like you left the handbrake on till it hits boost if it does not have PPP. Different story when fitted.

A stock sti hits 60 in 5.2ish, the vx 220 4.7ish, not a big difference.
Perhaps the vx feels quicker because its lower to the ground ?
There's no way an sti is a slow car.
Remember its also a four door family saloon

Power to weight my dear watson!
My car is remapped to 250BHP, thats 277BHP per ton!!, a standard STi is 182BHP per ton, work it out
My VX would beat my 350+ STI, I own both so I know from experiance
