I can smell petrol

I have purchased an STI PPP 05 - for some reason I can smell petrol every time I stop and get out of the car. The smell is stronger around the back wheel (where the fuel filler is) is this just the exhaust dumping unburnt fuel or something else.

It worth getting the fuel pump fixing re-sealed. i had this after the fuel pump was changed for the ppp.The gasget wasnt quite seated properly.

I had the same with the seal where fuel pump goes in. It was the rubber seal which I had not re-attached properly and trapped a wire. A new seal was fitted and smell went away.
