I can only tell you what you already know and that is DO NOT touch Warranty Holdings. If I put my thoughts about them on here it would probably be removed by the Mods. IMHO opinion I find it hard to believe that the company is allowed to continue trading when there have been so many complaints about them.

From my own personal experience, these warranties are an expensice con. They take the money and always find a way to not pay out. I paid to have my Porsche serviced at the Official dealer to protect the warranty but they still refused to pay for anything saying that the turbo was not covered by the warranty. It seems that they class everything as wear and tear.

No doubt someone will post on here that XYZ Warranty paid for a new engine etc but that is very much the minority. They only tend to pay out where they have links to dealers who will pass more policies to them. It just works like a protection racket to me.

You would be better just taking the premium and giving it to your local bookie for the horse racing. If your horse looses that you're no worse off than giving the money to the warranty company. At least the bookies pay out if you have a valid claim.

Jonno,

He is rigth m8, I would not bother with warrenty, just make sure you have AA etc cover to take you where you need to go than a good mechanic.

I had warrenty useless on the mods I have done on my motor, the clutch was a one off, If I had something wrong with the engine/trans etc I would have to strip the mods off! not worth the money.

To many folks have been con'd! they dont pay out!!!

Look after you scoob

Try Car Care Plan. Obviously look at the small print, but IMHO they are valve for money £ for £.

The problem with Care care Plan warranties is that for Specialist vehicles such as a Scooby, the maximum claim limit is £1000.00.

Angry

I was dead lucky with Warranty Holdings, but wouldn't use them in a hurry I managed to get my £1k from them (& that includes VAT) for a piston replacement fault on a 93WRX, but it took them 3 visits and piccies to agree to it - quote "unfortunately we will have to honour the claim sir" - cheek or wot

Car Plan apparently have a new upper limit well above £1k, so I am reliably informed by Trouser, who could provide more details being as he has "insider info".
(Hope you're reading this m8)

Look at how much a month the warranty costs.

Then find a decent 30 day notice savings account and pay what the warranty costs into it.

If something does go wrong, you have some cash to put towards it. If nothing does go pop, when you sell the car there's a nice pot of loot to do something with.

Buy the Racing Post, pick a horse because you like the name of it and put your £300 on that.

You've much more chance of seeing a return
