I think the Scooby is a performance car..
My wife and I are expecting our first child later in the year and we have traded our superb VX220 Turbo in for a new STI. We are still running her in but the new car feels fantastic. Its a little numb in comparison to the VX but in some ways its everybit as firm.
The thing is I am new to the Subaru life and I think of the Imprezza as a performance car. But it seems that reading some of the posts on this site that there apears to be a growing image problem...
My friends are really impressed with our new choice of car and if anything prefer it over the VX - which surprised me as they can be a bit snobbish and I thought they saw the Imprezza as a bit of a thugs car. But they dont!
I hope the image of the car stays as a performance car driven by enthusiasts and doesnt denegrate into a bird pulling, donut creating Chav wagon.

Welcome to SN and enjoy your new motor
I agree about the impreza being a performance car, its just the opinion of the purists who love the classic impreza in unmodified form that implant the perception of this image into scoobynetters, most of these purists have now moved on as well and dont have a scooby. Joe public doen't share the view, at least from what i've seen, heard and experienced

Welcome, you're going to love life with a scoob after VX ownership... just think great sound, no accidental rear end slides, 5 seats & a boot!
Just kidding, the VX in turbo guise is an awesome piece of kit - my neighbour has one & we enjoy the occassional sunday afternoon B-road blast. (faster than me, but can't lose me!) We're heading down to Southern France in June to do Route Napoleon & take in some other Alpine passes. Definately know which car I'd rather be doing a 2500 mile round trip in!

My better half likes mine too, but this type of female are quite rare in my experience. I remember arriving to a meet late one cold dark night when the rest of the guys had already gone in, and as I walked through the car park a group of 10-12 ladies had just arrived in various stylish cars (Mini's and such) and were commenting on "those ugly cars with the silly wings" being all over the place tonight.

I needed a practical 4 door saloon that was quick.
3 Years down the road I still have the 03sti, and I'm far from bored. It's a good family saloon car, quick and very reliable.
What more could a petrol head with a family want?
