Question

Think back to getting your first Impreza and remember having some spare money in your pocket, with the tales of thefts, high insurance costs and of high petrol bills is it all worth it? or would you stick to the A2B cars the majority seem to have?

I seem to be one of the poors cousins, as I'm only on my second (MY98 & P1). None of the members I see regularly have had less than two.

You might say they're addictive

I reckon I'll keep my MY00 EU Import another 12 to 18 months then have a rethink. Would definitely import myself again... not sure what though. 5 door WRX in silver with PPP (bit more kid friendly than my 4 door) or an STi (why no Euro STi wagon??). Would love an EVO VII too and Mitsubishi's more open arms attitude to imports might swing me their way (ultimately the same dealership as Subaru in Aylesbury where I live though which seems crazy!)...Anyone bought from Warrender before?

Chuckster, I assume you're not getting rid of your 22B.

Red face

I'll probably keep my '00 for another year, but after that I would find it difficult to get another one.

It has (still is) an 'experience' owning the Scoob, but quite frankly I can't face another 2/3 years of:

*24mpg.
*Ignorant dealers who give crap service.
*Poor build quality in many respects.
*Having to trawl round snotty insurers every 12 months.....
*Spending £1000's on security, but still...
*....wondering if it's still where I parked it.

Read Chuck's post properly peeps - he may be a yank but he's not that stupid

As for me - I've had PTMW! for nearly 2.5 years & have no intention (currently) of selling/geting rid & YES I would definately get another one (STi Wagon )

Have had 2,MY97 and MY01(just sold), and would only have something a little more focused, okay, a 22B, in the future.

Really want a 22B now, VERY unlikely to buy from Subaru UK again.

Had my MY98 5dr for 3 years and counting. Can't see the point in changing it, another Impreza isn't worth the extra £££ and nothing else can touch it for what it does.

My car = Great!

Having driven a couple of impreza's back in 98' I decided to buy one. A day after placing an order(6 months wait at the time) I had the oppertunity to drive an Integra Type R. I promptly cancelled my Impreza order and ordered an ITR instead. 3 years on, I'm on my 2nd ITR.

I'm now in the possition that I need more door's. So my first port of call was the Subaru dealer. There's no doubt Impreza's are competent but getting back into the ITR was the same revalation it was 3 years ago. I've never driven an import so can't comment on them but don't you think the standard UK cars are a bit inert(albiet 'fast, practical and inert').

On saying that I'll probably still buy one. A 5dr maybe.

Yup we are getting rid of our S4 and becoming a 2 scoob family
For me the 22B is just the most fun car I've ever driven with a roof and 4 seats...and I've driven a few now
The new WRX now provides the comfort and ride we wanted in a 'practical' car, and after extensive cosmetic mods it's almost tolerable to look at. Gonna run it in and then decide what to do about the performance, but to be honest it's not my idea of a sportscar...too civilised.
I was soooo close to gettin a wagon James instead, but got a better deal on a 4 door the dealer had in stock
