Personally I'd buy a brand new MY06 for a similar price. Alliance have them for £22295 in stock (+ £299 each for Alarm and Tracker) while Litchfield has them for £22995 including Alarm and tracker. And with 3 years Subaru warranty.

mmm, it does seem a little over priced, maybe you can haggle a better price as its the older model (2litre), but having said that it only has 1600miles and PPP. It is only an asking price, you must be able to get a better deal on it.

Don't do it! These aren't selling at the moment, there's some on the For Sale section on here that keep getting reduced, they would be a much better buy and for about £5-6k less.

Also ex demo probably means not run in properly.

I just ordered a brand new 06 STI, UK Spec, not pre-reg (so I'm first registered keeper) for £21995 from Alliance. Full 3yr Subaru warranty. I definitely wouldn't be paying the amount you have been quoted. As you will probably find out extras on a car mean nothing when you come to sell it.

Got my 05 STI with PPP for 23000 with only 17 miles on it in feb (PPP at 1000), dont think id want to pay more that 21500 for a car that is 1) more than 100 miles 2) Demo (maybe thrashed) 3) Lost 3+ months of warranty

If its a demo car with PPP it must be used to sell the PPP, how do you think people drove it to test the PPP?

just read this bit 'car will be used by my wife mostly and prob only abused a few times a month by me'

If that was me the used/abused words would be the other sides of the sentence

thanks for the replies peeps.i understand that some think the car i've found is a bit overpriced as the new model has been released.ok so dealers now have to replace their demo cars to reflect this.as i understand the car would have been nearly £28k last year with the ppp and other extra's so what should i try to haggle the dealer down to.
seemed like a good deal to me at the time but not so sure now?
i also asked of any reliability issues but no one mentioned any so do i take it there is none so to speak??

edit to add:i'm a complete numpty when it comes to this type of car so i need all the help ican get

if you feel its spotless and also when you test drove the car did the dealer let you out in it on your own (its been thrashed) or do they insist on comming with you (less lickly to be thrashed) then probably £21,000 - £21,500 or offer them the full price and say you want free servicing for 30000miles (including 30k) and prodrive springs (or similar priced item of you choice) if they say no then walk away, if the cars still there in a couple of weeks (ring them to remind then they 'could' sell it )
