What they said.

But a scooby is a SCOOBY! And the other's an old, old Ford.

My Cossie had gone bang just out of warranty £2k Burton Engineering warranty and Group N head gasket, before I bought it. That was back in 1990. Even almost new it cost a fortune to maintain...Great drivers car but the last 2WD car will be 16 years old now. If you like to tinker and can repair it yourself you won't be disappointed.

Too ambiguous to say for sure, but a stock impreza versus a 300bhp cossie, i'd guess the cossie . A decent modded scoob though, would porb go the other way

I owned a 4x4 sapphire cos , it was runnin at 380bhp and the acceleration was mind knumbing, it really made your guts churn and was hard to keep it in a straight line . Impreza's feel much safer and smoother when booting them, and handling wise would p**s all over any cossie.

It's difficult to compare like with like. the only comparator would be an event such as TOTB where you have standing 1/4 mile, top speed and handling.

I remember the year before last there was an Escort Cossie which went round the handling track like it was on rails but overall the Scoobs seem to have had the best of the exchanges?

In addition, some of the Ford owners arguments are very flawed. For example haw you can compare a Cossie with 380bhp against a standard 05 STi and expect the Scoob to win (even with PPP)? Put a Scoob and a Ford together with equal power and it would be a close run thing with the Ford probably pulling slightly ahead given that it is likely to be lighter but it would be close enough that I wouldn't want to bet my house on it! As for reliability, all things being equal, my money would be on the Scoob. Ford = reliability hmm???
