Default Engine cleaning

I've just bought some GUNK spray on degreaser and was wondering what exactly do I need to cover. I'd be grateful If anyone who knows could mark it on my pic or just point It out for me. I'm a bit clueless with engines sorry!!
Many thanks!

hi mate, if you are using a jet wash make sure you cover the intercooler because youl bend the fins, i'd also cover the alternator on the top of the engine, the ram air pipe above the rad and any wires.

With Gunk you just spray on the degreaser leave for 10 mins and rinse off with hosepipe so shouldnt have to much pressure!

Best thing to do mate is throw away the Gunk and buy some CD2 from
halfrauds.

It's a proper engine bay cleaner & detailer and looks the biz when done.

I personally don't wash an engine, far too many electrical parts for potential problems.I doubt if your engine is oily just 'dirty'? I just tend to wipe what i can reach and keep on top of it.

Oh and P.S, That magical yellow marker pen is my very poor knowledge with 'paint' lol.

when you clean an engine bay you get rid of a wax oil spray that is put on in the factory, in the end all the brackets and stuff will rust. its a good idea to spray some back on

That CD2 cleaner is really good, the degreaser is basically the same as gunk but easier to rinse.. And it includes a can of detailer spray, which is just a silicone based spray.

IMHO modern engines dont have an issue with washing, there are no open connections, and no distributor, not like the old days, get a tiny bit of moisture in the dizzy cap and the ******* wont start

PLUS the added bonus of not being able to get water down the spark plug holes!
