most likely fill out a phoney bankers draft using your bank information/ address.

they aren't interested in your car.

I guarantee that the 'money' will be paid into some type of Escrow account in your name, you will recieve an official looking email (probably from a large and well known named bank) and be able to phone up and confirm that the cash is there waiting for you. To get it you'll then have to deliver the car to a boat/container and then you need to call the escrow service the following day and give them a document number - upon which they will release the funds into your bank account - which they will tell you will take 3-5 working days to go through. 3-5 working days later your funds won't have been recieved and the car will be long gone! The phone number you had been calling to confirm details won't work and the email addresses etc will all be deactivated.

If you are going to sell to this person I would only EVER do it if you meet them and they give you physical cash! Otherwise I'd hold out for someone buying it in this country.

Yes its a scam,

they send you a stolen draft for more than the car is worth.

You pay it in and the bank then credits your account.

You send the difference to the buyer.

The bank finds out the draft is stolen and removes the money from your account.

You lose.

The usual scam is over paying with a fraudulent cheque "oops I put an eight instead of a 4 etc", they will then request the "change", couple of weeks later your bank will be on the phone to you..

HUGE SCAM!! Leave well alone.
Well Rehersed one too...
I know a guy who sold his old astra on e-bay up for £500, some guy ofered £1200 for it puls shipping of £2500 etc etc, saying the cars are worth thousands and are in demand in Nigeria..

Long and short of it is, he got stung!
Out of pocket for the cost of the shipping etc who he paid some third party for plus the insurance for shipping the car, all off the bcak of a foney bankers draft, apparently it takes longer to be processed when its from overseas. So he paid over 3k to some guy and was left in his overdraft!
