Default Old Petrol

My car has sat inside for the last 6 months over the winter. It hasnt moved, but the engine has been started and run regularly.

When it comes out on Sunday, it'll be going straight for its MOT about 25 miles away. The petrol is 6 months old though (just under half tank) and I'm wondering about emissions and loss of octane levels

Will the fuel have deteriorated enough over that time to make emissions worse?

Is it a good idea to put more petrol in, or burn off the stuff thats in there?
Would octane booster help?

Yes, it will be fine. If the fuel has degraded over the 6 months your ecu should retard to suit. I would drive it carefully and not boot it until the fuel is run through and you get some more super.

Cool

My tank has been full from Sept 05... the week of the fuel scare... think once engine is rebuilt... and it finally runs again... gonna put a couple of bottles of octane booster in... then its careful running in time...
