The Mercedes overtook a vehicle that was travelling in the same direction towards Manchester. A few moments later it is believed that the Mercedes car had a head on collision with Mr Gentry’s Subaru Forester car that was travelling in the opposite direction.
<snip>
Police have reported that at the time of the collision the road surface was wet and slushy and visibility was reduced due to spray.
WTF was he overtaking in poor visibility and road condition

I know the section of road where it was,It is a dual carrageway heading up the hill from the flouch pub roundabout toward manchester,This section has been constructed to create a crawler lane for wagon's,as they do bloody struggle up the hill,I am assuming the merc must have performed some sort of double overtake to be on the side of the road as the forester(over the double white line's)
TBH,some peep's do push it a little too far on this section of road,obviously chasing down that "front lorry" so that you are not stuck behind it for the next twenty mile's on the single lane section

Have to agree with that, Merc must have been doing some serious speed, know the woodhead run very well (done it twice a week for the last 5 years),

Does state that it forced the Forrester onto the banking - I believe they are deep ditches along that section of road !
Very sad!

Talk about nothing better to bloat the forum with.Like i said,if every other forum took this approach, they would be just as **** as this one.

It does a service by reminding us that we are not immortal and Subaru cars are not indestructible. F*rd drivers know that already RIP.
