Default HELP! Where can I get some STI 3 heads?

Been having an ongoing water/overheating problem. Engine out again and the heads have been pressure tested, 1 is leaking internally.

I now need a pair of STI 3 or 4 heads and can't find them yet. A local place (Sussex) have got a pair coming in but they are already sold. The only other option they had was an STI RA version 3 complete engine, for £1,700 with a warranty. Can't afford to go that route though.

Other than here, SIDC or Ebay, has anyone got an ideas?

The head castings are all the same, could you get some cheap WRX heads and transfer your cams/valves over?.

Hope this helps.

I didn't know that. Got a guy at work with some old 1993/4 WRX heads. Would they work? I thought the compression ratios were different on the later STI's

Cool; if theyre priced in a similar manner to 6spd transmissions then theyll be a little more than private sale, but with a warranty.

Keef69, speak to these guys, they are in Australia. Last time I dealt with them they had a pair of v3 sti heads, ported & polished, with bigger steel billet cams for $4000. I know it is a bit expensive, but you would have a set of heads that would support some serious other mods for big power.

Cheers, but I think a complete rebuild would cost less! Would hate to spend that on heads and have the bottom end give way soon after!

Don't forget that they are Aussie dollars which are worth next to nothing. Even so it's a lot of nothing.

By comparison IF we had them we'd charge £1000 plus vat for a ready to use set, including 2 head gaskets.

We will have stock again in late April when a container with 4 x Ver 3 / 4 engines arrives.

Good luck David APi
