I had an MY02 Bug eyed without the PPP and it was very disapointing, then had a P1, total different kettle of fish, but want more than the P1 as I got used to that within days.

Does it cost alot to get them to 350-360?

Your looking at a

- performance exhuast decat which can cost from £200 second hand to 1k new, brand dependent
- Possibly induction or panel filter from £30 to £400
- Fuel Pump- Safety measure £100
- Some aftermarket ECU or EcuTek £500-£1k+
- Boost controller - added option £50-£500
- Plugs- £50

Should help you see 350hp with a helthly safety margin

Just a remap will give 330hp on a uk sti ppp, without changing any parts, just what I've read.

Not sure, some have changed the boost solenoid to a 3 port not sure what they cost. Better boost control by all accounts.

A p1 won't make 350bhp on it's standard turbo, even with a biger turbo intercooler will be a limiting factor.

Yep, I would have thought you'd be looking at a TD05 18g (or similar) for more than 350bhp?

not much larger (VF35), if at all, but more efficient. Infact i think it may actually have a smaller exh side than the p1 turbo (VF28).

I don't think the VF35 will do much more than 330bhp. you're pushing the limits then before it starts to blow hot air.

sorry to hijack the thread but....
rather than go for ppp, what power is available for 02sti in standard form if a
decat zorst, panel filter and remap are carried out.... more than ppp ?

approximatly similar results your looking at 310-20 potentially with safety and longevity in mind

You'll get more, how much is debatable but ppp is constrained by having a cat and having to be able to run on 95octane fuel (not a good idea though)

Just looked at there website do you realise what your get for you £2800

A full exh system, Intercooler, induction kit and Ecutek.

What I would pay

Exh - 600
Intercooler - no need, cars have made 400bhp with an STI7 intercooler
Induction kit - no need, Panel filter 50quid at the very most
Ecutek remap - £600

I'm not saying anything else but I also don't believe a VF35 at anything like sensible boost and mapping can flow enough for 350bhp.

The person starting the thread said he had PPP so it's £1595 for the upgrade not nearly £3000. Thats with remap, induction kit, Intercooler and the labour.

Now I'm confused...
Some say that the std VF35 can only safely manage 320-330hp. How can some achieve 350hp and still be reliable?
What happens to a turbo that is pushed too far, meltdown?

Yep. Mine was ppp-took it to TSL and it retained all the ppp parts. Had the 333 remap and it made 332bhp at a recent rolling road. Torque was down though @ 295. Something to look into a little later me thinks.

Cost wise just a bit more than the 500.00 that you suggested

Do they map the ecu to stop the boost dropping off when revs increase, i have noticed the boost dropping off with the ppp. Could this be why your torque is the same?
