Default Opinion on this car please...

Hi all,
my search for a type-r continues after viewing some 'not so good examples' anyway i have seen this on ebay and it has quite a bit done to it. However i am not all that mechanically minded so wondering if you could have a look at the pics/description and see if everything looks OK
Also the mods and performance figures given: realistic - safe....?

Anybody know of the car/owner..?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IMPREZA-STI-TY...QQcmdZViewItem

Many Thanks

Looks a cracking car mate! Not sure bout the rear clusters though, but thats just my opinion as you may like them-and a minor detail.

ummm, should think its known on here, but cant see any mention of history aka oil changes, regular servicing, says theres bills for work done so this might include that, which is a must. Also worth checking whos done the work, is it reputable place?
and best advice, if in doubt walk away

Aluminium bodyshell????? yeah allright.

Shame about the rear lights aswell.I would advise you find out more about the coilover suspension, could be unbearable and useless for the back road blast!

I,m sure the standard topmount cooler could be an issue with the quoted power figures, but after me running it down it is a limited editon type r.....

Type r,s are cool.....limited editions are sub zero!!!!

Wow, I can't believe anyone would consider buying a car like this from ebay! Big risk I would have thought, far better to buy one from here that's vouched for by other people.

It has a standard i/c which may be on the limit.

Also worth finding out what turbo its got to verify the power claims.

"MUCH MORE ENGINE INTERNALL WORK" ?

He lists his lexus lights but doesn't list any work done to the engine internals??

It seems like he brought the car as it is and doesn't know too much about what has or hasn't been done to it.

I would want to know who did the work and when etc etc

apart from the lights and that hideous scoop, it looks ok.

BUT, i would not buy it for the simple fact its on Ebay, some will dissagree with that, but, if the car is a good example, it will sell in the usual places such as club bbs and autotrader first

Buyers location is Chesterfield. If he's had work done, chances are it's at Scooby Clinic. Would give them a bell to see if it's known to them?

You've got the reg in one of the pictures, so they should be able to track it if they've had it in.

Would definitely agree on getting all the paperwork to show exactly who did the mods so you know they are someone who knows their stuff. Plus a recent rolling road printout verifying the bhp claims.

Also, as mentioned, find out what else has been done to the engine and how long the bloke has owned it - could be he only bought it recently and then found he couldnt insure it or something similar.
