depends on how handy you are with a spanner? assuming you are not at all, i would say not too hard, just go easy and do it one step at a time.

You need to cut the lugs of the underside of green air filter so the airbox shuts

Very easy to fit the GREEN panel filter, cut the rubber lugs until you've got a good snug fit in the airbox, drop it in and put the lid back on (which takes a bit of brute force).

Job done.

Dump valve depends what year your car is. EIther it's on the intercooler itself on later cars, or just under it to one side. There's a short pipe that leads to it, and the standard one is just black plastic. If you're changing it for an atmospheric DV (i.e. one that blows off excess pressure rather than putting it back into the inlet tract) then you'll need to block off one of the two pipes.

I thought the Green air filters were not very oily. My mechanic recommened it as I own a MY00 with the weak MAFs

Unhappy

All I can say is it cost me a new MAF sensor....

Was o.k. until about 500 -600 miles later then power went really down!

Got it checked out... MAF covered in oil!

Just a warning!

These stories are usually associated with ITG filters, I haven't heard of a Green causing such problems but 98-00 MAF's are delicate. Might be worth either sticking with the OE or trying an STi (non-oiled) filter. The STi one isn't a lifetime product and must be replaced at service intervals though, and there have been some negative results in comparative tests.
