Having lost the enigmatic Mr. Clarkson, do you think that Driven is now the better motoring programme?

Yes there is the big nosed Jason Plato presenting Driven, but at least they do not have Tiff(any) Needell!

However we get an extra 3 minutes of motoring reviews and news on the Beeb instead of some dross commercials.

Please can we all cast our votes.....

Cheers

Jay

Top Gear is becoming a copy of Driven with scores out of ten, best of three etc. TG still has the edge IMO, this may however be down to budgets and Vicki BH.

I can't understand Driven , they tested those town cars inc the cute little Merc smart this week . What I cannot understand is how they can conduct a head to head test of 3 vehicles on how a bloody cake holds up !!!!!?

No comment about topgear or that bloke Jason Barlow .

I just tune in when they feature a supercar .

There should be a TV version of EVO. Daily. And this Digital c**p - Granada Men & Motors what a load of rubbish - always teeny weeny bikini contests/wet t-shirt and reviews of cars released in 1998 by bearded Grandads. And TG GTi is just rolling repeats. I say scrap all the football and make it all cars with 0-60 <7s

Ok, maybe these are not perfect but compared to the rest of the world your carprogrammes are looking great! In Holland all the (car)programmes are commercial, hence, when they test a corolla the endtitling says Made in participation with Toyota Nederland. Every car tested turns out to be great. It's that bad. They call the Hyundai Atoz a stylish masterpiece, when a car has 23 bhp its a economic marvel, a van without wheels a lightweight wonder. Literally everything tested is a godsent, as long as the manufacterer pay$... half the broadcast is made out of film from the manufacterer. So... yeah, i liked the 1999 TopGear better but it will always be far better then anything else on this planet. British broadcast rules..

Talking

I forgot to mention that every 15 minutes we get a truckload of funny little movies about toiletpaper and soap. I miss that on the BBC.. i don't have time to get the beer out of the fridge...

Quentin seems to have left Top Gear, but they haven't mentioned this on any of the programmes yet.

I like Tiff when he slides the cars around the track.

Personally both Driven and TG annoy me now, apart from every now and again when they review something worth watching and then usually I am watching for the car and despite the reviewer. In the old days (uh oh - I sound like an old codger) I used to enjoy the banter from Clarkson and Quentin as well.

Why does Penny Mallory get all scared when Plato is driving her around? I thought that she was meant to be some ex rally driver. I don't like her permanently squealing her fright when he is on the track.

Oh well - it is still better than most of the dross on TV nowadays.

Topgear has gone right off ! Vicki only just keeps it watchable. This rubbish copying the Driven 100 is so sad !
I like Michelle too - where has she gone ? Out of the two it is quite difficult - Driven occasionally has some good stuff - but why didnt Jason give those supercars some grief like Tiff would have done !!!!!

Bring back JC

oi, leave the Teeny Weeny Bikini contest alone. I find that much more compelling viewing than TG. Besides the beauty of this programme is that I can see all I need to within 5 minutes, I have to watch all of TG!!!!

Top Gear is still best, however I agree the copying Drivel scoring thing is pants.

How come Tiffany is unpopular then? I like him, his driving certainly livens the program up. I don't always agree with what he says.. "Too much Understeer.. etc.."
Well maybe we're not all racing drivers that want to go sideways everywhere - remember we are paying for the tyres!

On the whole TG is normally entertaining, this series less so, Jason B is a mistake but at least they have got rid of that Humble woman!

Driven is getting there tho' Plato has been a good addition and Barrow Boy Brewer always makes me laugh..

Think I'd rather have that 911 than the NSX tho'!

/Ramble over - did any of it make sense...

I watch both of these programs when I can but I don't really go out of my way, cancel all appointments, ignore the phone etc when TG comes on. As sad as it sounds this is what I used to do with TG up until a couple of years ago. TG has been on a slippery downward slope for a while now starting with the departure of the great JC. VHB was a good find and does lift the program but apart from her its now very run of the mill with little wit and originality. Driven is good, very good considering the time its been around, and is good competition for Top Gear, maybe the rivalry will bring TG back upto its old high standards. For now though I think Driven is slightly better with room for improvement on both programs.

My two penneth anyway.

TopGear used to be the best, but now it comes down to a fair fight on a program by program basis.

Now questin an clarkson have gone TG is on a downward spiral.

I gave up on Top Gear when they voted the Fiat Multipla "Car of the Year". OK, so TG is not just about sports cars, but the Multipla as "Car of the Year"? Get real!!

They are both terrible and every week littered with mistakes and in some cases untruths! Take Driven a few weeks back with the 4x4 estates test. Plato said "Audi started all this in the 80's" - toss! Subaru made the first production 4x4 estate car in 1972 - the Leone (crap name I admit), but it was the first!

Moss

P.S. VBH is awful - I'd rather spend half an hour with my sheep.

P.P.S. What happened to that twit Quentin Willson (antother crap name!)

When Quentin announced he was leaving TG it was a surprise to all on the team.
It was mentioned in the magazine.

Top Gear is now just pure ****e. I used to watch it every week. Now I don't even know when its on.
My mate phones me when any Supercars are on, but thats about it.
The only decent thing about it is the foxy (wants a fu%k) Vicky.
It just seems so boring to watch. They all used to have there own styles, but they seem to copy JC old image and quotes.

Think I will stick to the boy racer mags, Max Power, Fast Car and Redline - better birds.

Never seen Driven, whens it on???

Bring back JC

VBH in leathers a few weeks ago.....hmmmmmmmmmmmm drool

The only other entertainment factor on TG is Tiff sliding motors beautifully around tracks. Tiff always puts a on my face

Driven ...Drivel more like (but thats only my opinion)

Mark.

The general consensus is that both programmes are crud.

I definetely think that JC should come back because at least he was honest about the cars he drove.

VBH.....are you sure she's female? Well at least she knows a thing or two about cars unlike that Katie Humble.
