Default Servicing in Yorks

My MY05 WRX is due it's 10k mile service in a few weeks. Anyone have a specific subaru dealer they could recommend preferably in the East/North Yorkshire areas. Prices I have obtained so far range from £150-£220 (inc VAT). I am new to Subaru ownership and naturally dont trust any of them!

Cheers

10k service should just be an oil/filter change and a general look around and check levels. You can save a wedge by providing your own oil, just make sure it matches or exceeds the specification of what is recommended in the handbook. The (s)dealer will probably charge IRO £70 for 4.5l of their oil, which will be something like Shell Helix semi-synthetic. You can get 5l of Silkolene ProS 5W40 for about £33, which is a much better oil IMHO. You should be down to about 1 hour of labout then, so about £70+vat.

As for which dealer, they're all pretty much the same. KT Greens at Otley near Leeds have few complaints.

I've used Pulleyn's of York from new (03 WRX) and had no complaint. They're courteous and quick. Not sure about how their costs compare but I imagine they are on par with other Scoob franchised dealers in the area?

SG Petch (Richmond).

Bought 7 new Impreza Turbos/WRXs/STis from them since April '94. Always friendly, efficient and great to deal with. Super service Dept. who've looked after all the cars. The recent 10K for our 05 STi UK PPP was £141 incl. Done whilst I waited, but a new loan car provided for a quick run round the Dales.

Cheers

I've used Chapmans in Pickering for last few years. 10k service was £133 I supplied synthetic oil. Always reliable and quick.Around £30 cheaper than York dealers.

As above, I've had several services at F R Pulleyn York - no complaints. I have also used SG Petch at Richmond and found them ok as well.

Cheers,

Ian.

Its really hard to tell if any of the dealers doing their jobs by the books cuz u cant see what they are doing to your car unless you know them as a friends!

and they know what they are talking about
Meaning the others don't...???

Their sales Dept certainly doesn't anyway. My Wife wanted to try an 03 WRX 5Dr a few years back. Saleman said she could drive a '98 Sport. At least it was a 5 Dr I guess... We bought from Petch (again).
