I heard 16 official UK cars
Dont know about imports
As for how many are left of the two 22b owners i've met and how they treat their cars i'd suggest most of them

A total of 426 were finally made. 3 cars are designated 000 and are owned by Colin McRae, Nicky Grist and David Lapworth, there is no number 13 and 24 cars were made for issue outside Japan. Of this 24, 16 came to the UK and were badged 22B Type UK and the other 8 went to the owners of Subaru concessions throughout the world. It is rumoured that a few of this final 8 went to private collectors, such as The Sultan of Brunei.

I saw on another thread i did about the reg plate 22B
apparantly some fella is selling his car and the plate £27.5k for the 22B £27.5k for the plate '22B'
Also one of my nerd facts is that 22B does not refer to the 2.2 engine but is the Hexadecimal code for 555 (it's such a odd thing that i actually thought i had dreamt it and had to check again )

when i asked my insurance company they told me only 12 were left .....

I have a couple of magazine articles on the Type UK press car S445... is that still around or has it been plundered to save other cars?

that's ok then.
nice to be part of something.
Do you hold any other details of it, like names of previous owners and dates of changing hands etc?
that would be good to confirm things like mileages and how muhc it has been cared for.

Not at the moment. I had been looking for a car for the last few years so had recorded details of all cars I came across on autotrader or otherwise. Unfortunatley I had no backup so that's all lost now. :-(

contary to rumour unlucky No 13 was issued being used as a demonstrator for Subaru USA. 424 cars made 400 Japan 16 UK 5 to Australia 1 kept by Subaru. Thesee cars were never able to pass local road regulations and therefore none where ever registered for the road. They entered the Japanese dealerships on 16th March 1998 to celebrate 40 years.

It's difficult to tell whether the USA car is #13 as to my knowledge it does not have the XXX/400 plaque on the centre console.
