I took my P1 in for a tyre change once and found the previous owner hadn't put the locking wheelnut key in the toolkit (i'd only bought it the day before). The Subaru main dealer (Swindon) I was getting the work done at told me there was no such thing as a master key, they had to use a device that screwed over the locking wheelnuts and crushed/twisted them off by brute force.

So either they were lying, or there's no such thing as a master key.

its abit of a worry but considering u can buy wheel stud removers form most places like halfords or to the better 1s snap on i dont think ppl buying them off ebay is to much of a worry considering a slightly bigger multisplined socket will do the job anyway lets face it if some 1 wants your wheels they got plenty of ways of getting them

Guys, this is nothing new most manufacturers have master sets. I'd get nothing done at work on bm's if we didn't have a set.
The problem is that they have obviously got into the wrong hands. Be interesting to find out where he got them from, if he's from a dealer he'd get the sack.

Deano.

The crooks method would most likely be to beat a similar sized socket over it and take it off as normal!
