towing
recently borrowed a BMW 1 series from work and the pigging thing broke down - wouldn't start. Mr recovery could not get it started and didn't have the right truck to tow it as i'd parked in the verge outside the house .... anyway what if my scoob breaks down and has to be towed ?
Can you tow 4 wheel drive, will putting it in neutral be ok or does it have to go on a flatbed.
Is it just automatics that cannot be towed - thanks all.

Either all four wheels on the deck as Harvey says, or all four wheels on a truck!! Nothing wrong with towing as such, with a solid bar and someone to steer it it should be fine.... should it ever happen!!

Jonny Gav and I went to Liverpool on spec and ended up towing an STi 3 Wagon back with the WRX Wagon. For the total journey there and back we did 24 mpg and we were not hanging about, especially so as Jonny had no heater and we had to be home before dark.

you can tow an automatic scoob, but you have to take one of the fuses out so it comes up on the dash a 2wd
for any other scoobs you need a flat bed or all four wheels on the ground, as said.
