Sports backbox for my WRX

Sports backbox for my WRX
Hi
I've had my new WRX for 3 months now, really pleased with it but I think it needs a bit more noise. Probably won't go for PPP, so I'm going to invest in a sports back box. Couple of questions:
1. Should I go for the Prodrive back box £350 + fitting quoted by dealer! or is there a less expensive alternative.
2. How much of an improvement does it make?
3. Does this impact on your warranty/insurance?
Cheers

If you want the WR Sport back box try eBay - I got mine for £100 about 6 month's back. Looks miles better, burbles at idle and sounds great when giving it some! Not the loudest by any means but then I work shifts and don't want to upset the neighbours. It didn't put my insurance up when I declared it (with Zurich) and as it's a genuine Subaru part I can't see how the warranty could be affected.

Agree with above £60 - £120 on Ebay for a WR sport of a PPP box, quality piece of kit and a doddle to fit
Dont expect to notice much difference in power, nice sound though.
Some insurers charge more, my last insurer was £100 extra for a change of exhaust. No impact on warrenty.

AFAIK Scorpion make both the WR Sport and Prodrive BB's under license, so they'll be every bit as good IMO. The conditions of warranty are that any parts used are of equal or higher quality standard than OE, so if Subaru and Prodrive approved parts are OK then so will Scorpion. Much the same with Ferodo uprated pads, which are the same as the blue Prodive ones for half the price.

I got my WRSport box off there, popped it on my '03 WRX and it's lovely. Best £100 odd I've spent on it. Do it, you won't regret it.

I'd like to correct a couple of things before they get repeated and in true scoobynet styleee become 'fact' due to repetition. You know the saying "It must be true I read it on Scoobynet"!
The 'equivalent standard' in relation to any replacement exhausts is an 'E' mark. As far as I'm aware, no other exhaust that anyone produces has an 'E' mark.
In addition, the blue Prodrive pads ARE NOT made for us by Ferodo.
Regards
Mike
