Default Who's got the ultimate "sleeper"

I'm currently making a few mods to my version 5 type R with should make it a fair bit more powerful but have tried to maintain it's standard appearance. Apart from the FMIC you'd think its just got an aftermarket exhaust.

Got me wondering, what else is lurking out there?

hmm cant classify that as a sleeper man, a sleeper is more a car that looks like it has 90 bhp, IE: a colt mivec with an 300bhp 2.0ltr turbo transplant, guys will expect ur type r to be quick already, ya know?

I'm not talking about going up againt a Punto at the lights, I mean it looks standrad for a Type R and other Subarus or Evo's might fancy their chances.

yeah but thats not the point of a sleeper dude, a sleeper is when they look over and see a ****ty yoke with hubcaps and it blllloooows them out of the water, they will show respect to a v5 type r sti!

Legacy B4 saloon. Small Jap legacy symbol as bonnet badge & tiny half inch chrome 'subaru' letters on boot.
B4 badge on grill & boot.

Surely it's all relative ?

Isn't a colt mivec with an 300bhp 2.0ltr turbo transplant, to a 300bhp Scoob, the same as a 600bhp Scoob, to more recognised super car ?

Mark.

there is a nova round here that looks really really sheddy, standard 3 spoke style rims etc, rust on it and its never cleaned.....

but there is an intercooler lurking behind the grill......

and the guy who owns it is like 30

When i was in southampton there was a sierra that was the five door hatch but had a twin turbo conversion on its 2.9 v6

that could catch you out

people have been taking off their M3 badges and calling them 318 (sleeper) for years, doesn't have to be a s**ty litle car to be sleeper ie spec D

I find it's usually the opposite: people putting M3 badges on a 318i. The single peashooter exhaust tends to give it away though!

The days are long gone when you could use a Scoob as a sleeper. But there is one standard looking UK MY99 thats running near 500bhp, now that gets pretty close. Especially if you have a mildly modded Type R

Oh, may be I'm to old for this stuff......

Tell you what though, I came across a Clio a few weeks ago on the M6 by Coventry. It appeared to be any old nasty coloured Clio, even with narrow wheels & tyres, but hell it moved very very quickly.

Apparently it's equipped with an Audi TT engine, Turbo charged with Nitro, or so I'm told.

I have a quick 93WRX-Ra, and he pulled away, though he did catch me off guard as I was pulling onto the slip road. Mind I'm pretty sure If I had have been ready I would have had him.

Looks very much like it,

I still put mine against it across a 1/4 mile, though mine will only do around 125mph

Must 1/4 mile mine one day

I think Fensports 600+BHP 4WD corolla is quite a good one. Although it looks like a tidy car as it just has a set of rims on the outside.

Awesome car though.

Love it!
