Power upgrade options for MY05 wrx
Hi
I've had my standard MY05 wrx for a couple of months now & have inevitably now got used to the 'mere' 225ps on offer & want more!!
It's a EU import car, so there could be warranty issues if I go for PPP, plus I don't really want to spent c£1100. Are there any other options open to me?
My mate has recently bought a bluefin ecu remap for his mini one, this cost about £300 & he has gained about 40ps + this is fully reversible if required. Is there a similar product for scoob owners?
Ideally I'd like a remap which increases power, is non detectable to dealers, doesn't require new exhaust/intercooler & doesn't cost a grand. Any suggestions or am I dreaming?
Any advice greatfuly recieved.

It's always been my understanding that the ecutek software is only detectable if you go looking for it. On normal dealer diagnostic equipment, they wouldn't know you've been tec'd. So, just go for an ecu remap, when I had my my99 done last year at Bob Rawles, there was a chap there having his wifes 03wrx mapped, without her knowledge
Basically, you wont get many more horses, but you will get a much more responsive and drivable car, with much better pickup and midrange torque.
In the future, you could then add mods (exhaust, filter ect) and another remap, cheaper, as you've already paid for the license, and hit 300ish bhp with ease

I had my 2001 UK WRX Ecutek'd at Powerstation. Fitted a HKS Hybrid panel and I have a WR Sport BB. I also needed to fit a Wahlpro fuel pump. I still have all the standard cats in place
The standard car is 218 BHP .
The filter was £34, fuel pump £75 secondhand and the BB was already on the car.
The re-map was £500 + VAT.
Now a stormer with as much oooomph as a STi but not the extreme looks.
Result is 262.5 BHP and 343 Nm.
Half the price of a PPP and it's map to you and your car not the " One programme for all cars" PPP.
But, do you want to keep the warranty?????
