It is under the steering wheel, slightly to the right (as you look at the wheel) at the back towards the pedals, if I remember correctly - as to OBDII compliant - I have a feeling I have read that it is.

Okay, cheers.

Time to find out if it is OBDII compliant. I just got an Innova 3100 code reader. Will post back with results asap. Fingers crossed.

Hmmm, the code reader just displays 'read' then 'error' repeatedly. GRRR WTF is going on????

It is a fully OBDII compliant reader.

I don't think the MY93 cars are OBDII compliant - I think they'll only work with the Subaru select monitor. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Presumably if the CEL light is off and there are no historic codes hanging about there wil be nothing to read off the ECU ??

Okay, mailed the company and guess what?...

After several to-ing and fro-ing they decided to tell me....

'The code reader is designed for US and Canadian vehicles only'

****!!! Funny there is no mention of this on their site!!! GRRRRR!!!!!!

Then they have the cheek to send me a link to their international site - IT DOESN'T WORK!!!

The 3100 code reader apparently doesn't support the CAN protocol. Not sure if scoobies have moved over to CAN yet, but if so that could be the problem.
Which of the 16 pins actually have metal contacts in your diagnostic port?

Yes the MY03 is ODBII compliant as are all Newage cars. There are many OpenSource/free tools out there if you want to start playing with your ECU. I'm well underway down this route and have a few articles on Scoobypedia.co.uk (click on ECU in the sidebar) you might be interested in. I'm working with the OpenECU.org community to help reverse engineer this stuff and develop the tools further.

IMHO bluetooth is not a reliable 'realtime' link. What ever software you are using it needs to be very tolerant of this or it will be useless. With that said, bluetooth devices can be very fussy with the distance between devices. Too close can be nearly as bad to too far away. Usually around one meter away gives best results.
