Unhappy Stupid Careless $**$*$*

Why is it that when there is near gale force winds people are so ******* careless????

I parked outside the local shopping centre for 5 minutes today, parallel to the kerb and with no-one near me and some careless **** managed to allow their kid's buggy to slam into the side of my car!!!

To her credit however, she did stop and give me her details and stated she would pay for any damage. Still, it would not have happened had she taken extra care in the conditions!

I now have a lovely scratch approx 12-14" along the drivers door!

It seems to have just broken the laquer, but I have tried Scratch-X and T-Cut and neither have made any difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to repair this? I really don't want to have the door sprayed if I can avoid it.

if its broke the laquer m8 its a paint job im afraid

or you can try to mix the base coat with laquer and flatten it down with 1500 wet /dry then mop it
this only works on darkcolour,s and whites tho
good luck

That's why I always park in the middle of 2 parking bays cos nearly every car I've owned , some dickless piece of **** has scratched/dented it in a car park.

The only down side is that you get Jonny Dogooder beraiting you in the middle of the car park for not parking properly. Something to do with Global Warming I think.

If you park in two spaces way over the back of the car park out of everyone's way then fine. If you take up two spaces right in front of the entrance then I for one will aim for your car as I push my trolley past for being so bloody selfish.... I'm sure I'm not alone.

No, I don't park near the front doors, for that exact reason, people pushing trolleys in between 2 cars. I always park out of the way. Also because of Stuborn, jelous, thick dogooders who think they are on a higher plane than everone else who would happily dent a car just to prove a point. Only anybody who dents my car on purpose just to prove a point had better be ready for the consiquinces if I catch them.

Plus Chelspeed, if you would really dent another car because YOU thought they were being selfish, well, then your a Tw@t.

I know how annoying it can be. Had a couple of my cars damaged in this way. People in **** box's parked next to you just flinging their doors open and dinging your cherised motor. Trolly's being allowed to roll into your pride and joy. Moron's in a works van colliding with your car because they couldn't be bothered to take their time when parking. It's all happened to me.

I was in a Tesco carpark yesterday lunchtime, hunting round for a secluded parking space. I passed a silver classic parked up with a shopping trolly resting against its backend. The driver wasn't in sight and I can only guess the wind blew the trolley into the back of his/her car. I felt gutted for them.

I was in walmart last night, and some careless F8ckwit let go of their trolley, it rolled down the hill towards me, I had my belt on so could only watch it come closer and closer, it clipped the passenger side of the front bumper leaving a maybe 3mm scratch, then bounced into the next car causing a lot of damage, I was lucky, but it could have easily been my car, the bint just smiled and said oops.

my reaction wasnt quite as polite.

I wouldn't do it if you were watching.....

No really I probably wouldn't actually do it, never have done. But I do feel like doing it when people are so selfish. And I'm sure there are others more impulsive than I am. So if you want to use two spaces then make sure it's over the back of the car park then everyone's happy.

Where my car's involved, I'm ALWAYS watching

TBH, I normally try and find a space on the end of the row so that I'm 50% less likely to get a door ding.

However, if I want to park my car across 2 spaces to try and avoid it getting damaged I will do and the "do-gooders" can kiss my ***. It's not their car and it isn't their cash that would be used to repair it.

The only "no-no" in my book is using disabled or parent and child bays (and I do have a child but only use them if he's with me). These are for people with specific requirements and deserve to be respected.

Smash their house windows or drive into their house and say, "It's only a house"
OR punch them in the gob and say "It's only a ****"

Being paranoid I always find the most remote spot to park but invariably return to find something parked in the adjacent bay. I'm inclined to think that it must be a sheep mentality. The same thing that keeps them sitting up each others ar$e in the outside lane of motorways.

Most intriguing are those who reverse into supermarket spaces, w.t.f. is that all about?

I agree, I suppose it makes it easier to drive out of the parking space but the hassle of reversing in and the fact it makes it virtually impossible to get the shopping into the boot......WTF

It's these idiots who cause scratches down the door panels because they squeeze between the cars, with arm fulls of shopping, sporting belt buckles, trousers and jeans with poppers/rivots/etc.

groan... , not another paint/ dent/scratched thread...

i dont know why we dont have a separate forum for allthese threads..

did you not read the small print when you bought the car...

"subaru,s have micron paint, on a stress base"

in short they only have to see a car park, a shopping trolly or a child, and the paint peels or chips in sympathy!

I believe the samaratans have a dedicated line specially for scooby owners with paint problems

I use the 'parent and child' when I take my Mum to the shopping-centre
I'm 40 , Mum is 66 , but she is still my 'Parent' and I'm still her 'child'.

I think there's a couple of reasons for this to be honest, although the latter probably doesn't apply much any more. Certainly with car parks with very narrow aisles, to get the nose in you have to swing right out and then full-lock to get it into the space. If you're lucky you might get it in first go without having to reverse back and try again. Reversing in is much simpler -- you can position yourself in the middle of the aisle and get the car into the bay with a single manouvre... assuming you're proficient at reversing.

The other reason is to do with loads being exerted on a cold engine when you leave, given that reversing takes more effort -- allegedly. Probably doesn't matter with more modern cars though.

Of course, access to the boot is always a factor and so's finding the space in front of yours free so that you can drive into that one nose first too and then leave facing forwards anyway.

Oh the science of it all.

Don't accept defeat just yet. I'm sure peope like Chips Away and similar should be able to fix this for you. You could even have a chat with your local Subaru dealership and ask them if they have a 'body/paint specialist' who visits them once a week...

When my Father retired he occupied his time by doing some driving for a local Jaguar/Rolls Royce dealership, and quite often the cars would get collected for scuff and scratch work. There was never a need for respraying because the tools available these days are pretty damn good -- a specialist can heat up the paint in such a way that it will blend into any scratches and you'd never know it was there. I'm sure they can explain the options better than I aswell.

Most people aren't in the shop for more than an hour or two. It takes a long time for an engine to get cold, a long time! Same for old cars as it is for new ones.

I used to live close to a Tesco who's car park was on a slope.

A woman comes out with a trolley and loads the shopping into the boot.

Then I could not believe what happened next. Instead of taking the trolley back to the trolley park, she just pushed it away, got in and drove off.

The trolley rolled off gathering speed and crunched into car after car on the way down the slope.

It must have hit at least a dozen cars.

Some people must have birds in their head. I mean what did she actually think was going to happen?.
