I calculated I get about 19mpg with my classic, which is a way lot for me! Compared to my other cars I get 32mpg on my 98 2.0 Prelude and 40mpg on my 94 1.5 Civic.
1. JDM Subaru Impreza WRX (facelift model)
2. 1997
3. There is no choice in MAlta, there is only one type of fuel. Which I'm guessing only has 70 octane in it
4. I got the magnecor leads, straight exhaust and sti air filter - 290bhp i think
5. on Average I drive around 3000rpm

wrx sti type R, 2.5ltr,
w reg, 2000.
optimax.
398.4bhp,387ftlb.
flat out(to see how low it would go)for 180 miles up and down the bypass!
AND VERY HAPPY!

1. UK Turbo
2. 1997
3. 95Ron
4. 230bhp (est)
5. Laid back, tootle round town off boost, cruise at constant 80mph on M-ways (refuse to vary speed and trying and keep manifold under vacuum...bloody tiring). And the odd mad moment a couple of times a week
At best:
24mpg town, 27mpg A-roads, 29mpg motorway
At worst
22mpg town, 26mpg A-roads and 27mpg Motorway
Super unleaded/optimax makes no difference (along with ECU reset etc) <shrugs>

55 Reg WRX 300 PPP
Have had from full tanks: 295, 327, 335 (light came on at this point)
I have used 3 tanks of Opti and on now a tank Esso Super Unleaded 97 ron.
Overall not bad at all and more please than I expected!
How come a classic Scoob can get only say around the 19mark? I am still very new to Scoobs.
Thanks,
Martin

1) Bugeye WRX
2) MY01 (51 plate)
3) Texaco SUL (97RON)
4) 258 bhp / 256 lb/ft (ecutek remap)
5) At times, very heavy footed
Pre-ecutek - 22mpg on average
Post-ecutek (2 weeks) - 18mpg (probably due to using the extra power rather than anything else )

MPG: best: 34.7; worst: about 18 (not trying hard enough!); average for motorway (cruising at 70-75) + some back roads: 28-30; round town: ?25-26.
1) WRX
2) 05
3) Optimax/Tesco 99RON
4) PPP ~ 260bhp
5) As light footed as possible when there's no point in doing anything else, eg round town and in heavy traffic, but when it's safe and the roads are clear as heavy as possible!

4) 265ps Standard / ~300ps after de-cat and chip tune
5) Mostly Enthusiatically on flowing country roads, occaisional motorway trips averaging 160kph
MPG's with car as standard (Max/Min for a single tank!) (Data over ~19months)
Max 25.0mpg / 11.3l/100km
Min 15.7mpg / 18.0l/100km
Ave 19.1mpg / 15.0l/100km
After de-cat downpipe and chip tune to ~300ps (Data over ~9months)
Max 24.8mpg / 11.4l/100km
Min 17.2mpg / 16.4l/100km
Ave 19.8mpg / 14.4l/100km
Conclusive proof, tuning improves fuel consumption
You may find this graph quite interesting. Plotted my average MPGs per month, before and after tuning and combined. Presumably, I back off quite a bit during the winter months!

3) Optimax or Whatever SUL I happen to find or Ultimate if I must
4) 284bhp/272lbft (exhaust, ported headers, samco hoses, ecutek)
5) Can be somewhat "enthusiastic" when down suitable roads, overtaking on A roads etc. Always gentle in 30s, 40s etc, tend to just cruise on motorways
Last tank I filled up I got ~47mpg. However, that was in the other car for my present 800 miles/week commute (306 D Turbo)
Average with scoob over 51k miles is about 25.5mpg. Best ever tank 31, worst ever is probably under 20. A lot of tanks at 28-29 doing longish journeys.
