Default sti7 ppp - wrc tech "wrc 350" upgrade

Hi All

Just thought it would be interesting to let everyone know how I got on with a recent upgrade I had done by wrc technologies last week. I searched the forums before I had it done, and wrc tech, just up the road from me, seemed to fit the bill.

I have an STI7 PPP and wanted an "upgrade package" to take it up to around 330-350 bhp. wrc tech's WRC 350 (for ppp) package looked to fit the bill nicely and came within budget.

wrc had it for the day and I collected it at 4pm when I got a call from Allan to say it was ready.

Car is transformed... on the dyno it went from 289bhp (PPP is supposed to be 300, yeh right... I do not know of one PPP that has achieved it yet...) to 339 bhp and torque went from 290 to a cool 350 Ftlb. The package consists of APS bits... top mount intercooler, cold air induction and ECU remap. I also added an APS dual vent bov for good measure.

The engine revs much more freely and you can feel the extra power/torque throughout the revs from 3200 to over 6500 (the standard ppp always felt a breathless at about the 5800 mark to me).

Drawbacks? Not sure about the fuel consumptjion yet (will have to see but probably seems about the same). The extra noise from the induction kit you will either love or get used to.

Allan was a top guy and made it clear what I should expect from the beginning. I got to test drive my car before I paid to ensure I was happy, and I also got before and after "dyno charts" for bhp, torque etc, which he went through afterwards.

Anyways... just wanted to share the experience... thanks again to Allan (and Chris whom unfortunately I did not get chance to chat with) plus the mechanic who fitted it, whom I met briefly (but don't know his name!).

Clarkey
PS There was also a silver sti 7 being done too (same mods)... I'd be interested in what they think of theirs if they read this too.

Yes, it was in just for a remap. The difference is amazing. 312bhp, but with 332ft lb of torque.

I had 330 conv done in June on a V7 sti no ppp..Transformed the performance of the car, went from 254bhp to 330bhp and 250FTlb torque to 350FTLb. Fuel consumption has remained the same.

Well, Allan @ WRC gave me a really good deal. Lets just say, ECUTEK map adjustment and STi injectors installed for less than I would of ever expected to pay... less than 440, but more than 390!

that is an expensive coversion from ppp to 350 as you have a good enough intercooler/fuel pump upgrade anyway imho
