Default Sat nav

Hi,Has anyone got or used the BLUE MEDIA satellite navigation unit for sale in the motorworld shops around the country, price is £299 i think.

Is this a reasonable navigation aid or are there better ones on the market any thoughts please.

cheers lee.

Tom Tom seem to be market leaders at the moment, pretty accurate and very easy to use

I'm looking to get a Sat Nav ...... the Tom Tom 300 or 500 seem to be the best to use but are larger than some of the others.

We have started to look at the Road Angel Navigator as it supposedly has a better database of speed cameras than the Tom Tom subscription one or even the free downloadable ones.

The Navman units we looked at had much slower processors than the Tom Tom or Road Angel and I found them really frustrating as a result.

My views FWIW

I dont bother with subscription to the Tom Tom speed camaera database, I down loaded the speed camera location and uploaded it to my Tom Tom Go. Got it free from here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php
Seems to have all the camera locations that Road Angel has. I doo like the RA navigator but its expensive

I have tom tom and Navman loaded on my PDA - both are very good although Tomtom has the edge on just a few features. For the money why not look at tomtom300 or for a little more tt500??

If you have a PDA & you shop around you could be up and running for less than £200. I would stay away from some of the lower end nav providers as I have read some poor feedback when it comes to customer support - whilst we always think "I won't need that" trust me just now and then I have had to make contact with the above nav providers and out of the 2 Tomtom Cust Ser was excellent - navman was poor but it could have been a blip.

Would recommend taking a look at the pocket GPS link - plus they do some cracking deals.

Have a look at the version that runs on mobile phones. If you have one of the supported phones, it only costs around £200 for the software and wireless GPS!

Got Tomtom mobile running on my Nokia 6600, very impressed for £150!! Also quite portable, so when in a foreign city, park the car, set a point of interest on phone - never loose a car again!!!!

I agree. Just got Tom Tom on my nokia and it is great. Alot cheaper than the normal setup but with all the same features. All you need is a bluetooth gps receiver. These and the software can be got on ebay quite cheaply.
