Default H & S Backbox??

I have a MY05 Sti and want to just change the back box and I am thinking of the above with just the simple 3.5" rolled tailpipe.
Are there different volume exhausts made by H&S as I definitely want something louder than the standard one and something to bring out the flat four sound without being too loud.

Do you think the 3.5" will do this? Is there much difference between the sound of the prodrive backbox and the H&S 3.5 rolled roound one as I ahve hear the prodrive one?

Cheers.

If you want more of the flat four rumble without things getting too loud, you can't go wrong with the original scooby design from H&S. If you like things a bit louder, the Afterburner Vortex is manufactured by H&S too. IIRC they can pretty much build one as loud as you want it.

Do yourself a favour and get the Prodrive backbox.
You'll not have any warranty worries that way, and please what ever you do, don't get one of those massive loud ******** backboxes.

The Prodrive item sounds quite nice, isnt too loud and you'll not have to shout at your passengers when trying to have a conversation.

Just like the H&S original scooby design- It's NOT a wide boy exhaust that'll wake the dead, it just sounds nice! Although you have a point with the warranty issue! Most dealers won't care if it's just the backbox, but you should check and make sure!

Thanks lads, some sound advise. I want the exhaust to look as subtle as the original so either the original H&S or the Prodrive one fits the bill. I have had a few classic turbo's and sti's and I would like some of the characteristic burble they had. I have heard the prodrive and granted its a nice sound but have never heard the H&S one.

Is the H&S mouch louder than the prodrive??

Your warranty wont be void with just a back box

If you get a Prodrive one it will have an oval tailpipe if it doesn't come as part of the PPP.

The Hayward and Scott exhausts and b/boxes are quality. I have a Magnex myself but would've bought the H&S if I hadn't had such a good deal on the Magnex. GO FOR IT http://www.scoobyexhausts.com/

How do you figure that one out then?

Technically I agree, a backbox should not affect warranty, but would Subaru UK?

I've had a warranty claim with an H&S BB - it went through no problem. It's pretty obvious that a warranty claim on a cambelt sensor or a seatbelt has nothing to do with the BB.

May be different if you try to claim on a broken exhaust hanger mount, but an aftermarket BB is not going to invalidate your whole warranty.

I asked my dealer whether an aftermarket backbox would invalidate the warranty. They said it would not invalidate the warranty of the whole car, just the item it was connected too. In this case the centre section.

I drive a 54 WRX.
