Default Fuel

i currently use unleaded fuel , I did try super unleaded but could not notice any difference in performance. Which is the best fuel to use for my 05 wrx .

Also I have decided that I will be having the prodrive fitted at a cost of £1350 think that is reasonable do you agree?.

If you haven't noticed any difference using normal UL then stick to that. The guy who previously owned my bugeye said he couldn't really tell much difference between UL and SUL. However I can and always put in SUL, regardless of costs . It seems more responsive and doesn't 'murmer' at 2750rpm's like it does on UL.

Having PPP may change that though, I would've thought it would run better on SUL.

£1350 for PPP sounds a bargain, it's normally £1600 for a WRX (assuming yours is a WRX not STi)

Unless it's £1350 plus VAT of course, which makes it close to £1586..

If you have PPP fitted, you really should use SUL, that's what Prodrive recommend.. Even without PPP you should also notice the benefits of SUL, but it's up to you really if you choose to use it or not, I'd say the majority of owners use SUL or Optimax/Tesco 99 etc..

Agree with BrynO. Prodrive state to get the best performance from a PPP WRX you should use super unleaded. I believe Optimax is their favourite. However the cars will run on normal unleaded, but not at their best. The price you've been quoted seems good for the PPP.

well it is a performance car so put the best fuel in that you can afford really, ya know? what would you feed your kids with each day, mac donalds or decent fooking food?!! same goes for your car, the children will run ok on the mac donalds but theyl run better on the good foooking food..lol.. think im cracking up a bit, i use 95ron and 114ron mix 4:1 ratio, works great, get just under the 100ron mark
