Blue and Green motor Way Cameras????
What are these things? some more have popped up round my local area and I would like to know what they do??
Some on bridges some on posts one faing each way.
Dont think there speed cameras as they have no way of mesuring ?

They are probably obeservation cameras, HOWEVER......
SPECS cameras look like normal CCTV cameras except they are flanked by two infrared illuminators. SPECS cameras do not need a 'measurement' painted on the road as they monitor your car over a distance of about a mile or so using "Automatic Number Plate Reading" (ANPR). If your average speed exceeds the speed limit for that stretch of road "BINGO", fixed penalty notice/court summons (depending on speed!)
If they look like any of the camers listed on this site, SLOW DOWN!!! (or go a different way

the green ones usually hang off bridges, and the blue ones are also on poles with one facing each way?
if so these are part of the traffic master network and traffic monitoring cameras, they take a picture about every half second, they are not speed cameras but the pics they take can be used in evidence for other charges (it was a number of these that got the guy who went off a bridge in his land rover into a train track, killing some passengers, they monitored the times he was at certain points and then a copper tried the same route in an identical rover, and found they could not have done it by keeping to the speed limit), so if you're thinking of doing over any gatsos etc make sure there are none of these about, or you've got different number plates on

i heard that specs cameras will only register you if you go past them over the speed limit, then if you go past another over the limit, it will average your speed...but if you think youve sped through one, you wont be caught if you dont speed through any others...anyone know if this is the case...?
