Strut Your Funky Stuff!

Hi Folks!
I'm sure you will be glad to hear that PTMW! is now the proud owner of an STi CF Strut Brace (like the pic below)
Thank you all for your support & encouragement & Strut Aid & emails etc. I will now SHUT UP about it
I will post a picture of it actually on PTMW! when I get a moment with a spanner - until then, it's hanging on the wall in my office

The first mod on my car was a Sparco alloy strut brace, which really sharpened up the turn-in.
Only cost £50 as well, which is what....£450 cheaper than a new STi one?

Strut braces CAN be worth the $$ - but only if you drive the car hard...
if you drive like a grandma... then they are just eye candy...
i know of 2 rally Subies here in the states that drove without them and cracked their windscreens...
when i removed mine last (about 4 weeks ago)
it was literally BENT... so if you drive hard, yes, the strut bar will help immensley w/cornering.

Its only meeeeee
Dont waste your money or time with an STI carbon one.
They are pooooh.
Get yourself a cheaper steel one.. like omp.. or sparco... these are far stronger and work.
IMHO...Tension it up first with the car level... and off off the ground...
And before anyone asks... yes I have tried both versions (Carbon and Steel).

To add to J's post, I use the STi pink/aluminium competition braces front and rear and these made a very noticeable difference to the cars behaviour. These are excellent and work extremely well. The front brace is adjustable and the rear made a huge difference to my Wagon.
If I were you puff I would seriously consider the rear brace as you have a wagon like me which don't have a solid rear bulkhead so a rear brace is even more effective!! Improved turn in...less understeer...more consistet and predictable in cornering and generally a stiffer car all round!! These are one of my favourite mods on my car.
So maybe we haven't heard the end of you yet puff, you can post loads more now for a rear brace!!lol. Although they don't make a carbon one!!
Regards

Well, I'm happy
(Doesn't take a lot to please me tho' )
I think her indoors might notice the rear one, tho' I might be coming up with a cunning plan to avoid any such discovery
BTW - Anyone got a rear STi Strut Brace for sale?
