Question for Mama's And Papa's!!!!! Car Seat Help!
Anyone got a mama's and papa's baby seat fitted in the back of their classic????
The wife has her heart set on a pram and car seat for our soon to be new arrival, had it fitted today but not entirely convinced it was as safe as the girl was making out!!!!!!
Anyone got one or maybe any other recommendations!
Cheers in advance

Which seat? We had the one that clips onto the pram chassis and then onto a base in the car. It fit better in the back of my classic than any other car, once in properly it was rock solid.

Depending on the age of your car, get an ISOFIX seat. Rock solid compared to those that use seat belts and way way way more effective in accidents etc. They are more expensive but what's money with your kids eh! We've had both the Britax ISOFIX baby one and recently moved to the Britax ISOFIX forward facing seat and it's so easy to move between cars and again, is rock solid...
I'm amazed more people don't buy ISOFIX given so many cars have the fixings now...

Hi Tony,
We had the Graco combi thing which had a base fixed in the car and you lifted the baby seat from the pram then clicked it into the base. It was really good as you didn't need to lift or wake the baby to put them in the car. Same when you got to your destination, you just unclicked the baby cradle from the car and clicked it into the pram part.
Now that our son is 20 months he is in the same pram / push-chair without the baby cradle part and we now have Priory XP car seats. I did try the Britax ISOFIX one in my 04Sti but didn't like the fit of it compared to the Priory XP.
Cheers

We have had no end of car seats kids and push chairs. They are all poo in my opinion especially mama's and papa's stuff. I too spend thousands on mama's and papa's gear and it is crap. The £50 wardrobe I bought from Ikea to match has faired better.
As for the car seat chat, I imagine if it is M+P it will be very expensive - so don't waste your money as you will only need a rear facing child seat for 9-12 months. But on the other hand do what is easiest for you both, and make sure it fits snug in the car. The toddler seats are harder to choose though...........
Hope that vague reply helped - lol

I can really recommend the Maxi-Cosi combination of car seat and push chair.
We've also got the carrycot that fits on the push chair base.
Good customer service from Maxi cosi when the push chair needed some spares.

IMHO you cant beat the recaro start car seat, ab fab with lap cushion, head hugger and a built in plug for earphones so your little one can listen to a cd whilst you are driving along, very safe too. Bit pricey, but definately worth the extra!

M&P furniture is pretty good. We bought a shed load of the Modensa range for our little girl (now almost 18 months) and it's all still standing.
The Mrs wanted a Jane pram and car seat, which turned out to fit the Scoob fine. The car seat was so light it was a joy to move in and out of the Scoob and Fiesta.
Have to admit the Mrs now has an M&P seat in the Fiesta (which is fine) but I've stuck with Subaru and bought the ISOFIX seat..... which is just a Britax seat with Subaru cloth and a badge on it. Nice match though. (my04 wagon btw)

Seatbelts are pretty good but compare it to an ISOFIX and you'll see the difference - and of course, every time to install the seat, the tension will be different. ISOFIX means it's always the same...
