Not mechanically minded i'm afraid but think this requires going under the car.
I think the P1 and 00 gear levers are the same fitment, in which case it is an easy job.
What benefits do you perceive? Is the P1 a short shift?
Take the gear lever surround off and check they are the same fitment.
On the 00 M/Y the lever sit in a nylon cup. Using a lever, prise or shock the existing lever out of the cup.
Fitting is the reverse but use a lump of wood and heavy hammer to get the ball to locate back into the cup.
From memory, the surround is held by two screws behind the cup holder and then unclips.
The gear *** screws off.
