But the old women on here tell us that these are chocolate engines and need soooooo special treatment??

How can they possibly exceed 20,000 miles without a complete overhaul??

62,500 MY00 and the same brake pads/discs/exhaust/clutch/ECU/MAF/Turbo ... never blown up, never put a foot wrong!!

Then again I don't play silly buggers and change anything!!

I would get it remapped whatever you do. I hear that lots have let go after 60,000 miles because of some shortcut fuel-improving measure that prodrive put in the fuel tank, which loses its efficacy after a time.

My 1995 'Wagon has under 70,000 miles on the clock. Honest mileages on imports are rare though as most of them come from skanky docks auctions.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Is there any mileage documentation at all on imports, like we get with consecutive MOT certificates? If there isn't, there seems hardly any chance they'll have honest odometer readings.

Mileage fraud doesnt exist in the Japanese domestic market, so an auction appraisal sheet is all thats required. Japanese service records are all computerised so service books are usually disgarded, less than one sevaral hundred cars being auctioned even has the books present. Docks auction veichles and many bought from dodgy internet exporters are frequently interfered with. Ive just bought a 1994 RVR with under 40,000 miles recorded, but odometer readings that low are quite rare.

I did 93k miles in my MY00 Scooby from Jan 2000 to Nov 2003. Bought it with 0, sold it with 93k. Never missed a beat. Unlike its replacement...
