Default Subaru boot letters

I am thinking of removing the subaru lettering from the boot. Has anyone else done this, and is it as easy as just removing the lettering or is it going to be a pain in the a***!.

AFAIK they are held on with the same "stuff" that you can use to attach your number plates .... they should come off reasonably easily and the remains on the boot lid cleaned off with a bit of polish etc. BUT I would be very careful not to scratch the bootlid in the process .... maybe a heavy cloth, a screwdriver and a very steady hand required!!

i have used a credit card/store card type in the past, just gently get it under the edge's and lift, but obviously use a card you aint gonna need as it may break,a lot less risky then screw driver near paint work imho

Good idea to use hairdrier to warm the glue up first. Heard WD40 is good stuff to remove sticky stuff afterwards and then you'll need to wash it and repolish afterwards.

If you leave your car in the wrong place long enough, someone will nick the "R" and "S" off the bootlid to stick on their Ford. Friend of mine wondered why his car had turned into an Ubau overnight, never registered with him that someone took them to "rs" up their XR2 or whatever.

Oh yeah.........a new set of S U B A R U letters will cost you over £50.00 so be warned about taking them off as I doubt you'll be able to reuse them once removed.

If you buy new set of S U BA R U they come already correctly spaced etc on a backing strip. You must ensure its straight first time. Did mine OK and I agree the boot does look empty with it missing.
