Question PPP, does it take away the initial 'impact'?

HI, my insurance is up for renewal soon so considering getting the PPP for my MY54 STi. From what I've heard PPP is well worth getting (I want to keep my warranty so is the only mod I can consider) but does it smooth the acceleration out too much. What I love about my Scooby is that initial impact of the acceleration that gives you whiplash as the boost kicks in. However, I am disappointed with the 'pull' after this, hence looking at getting the PPP. As the PPP makes the car more refined and has a wider torque does it mean that you won't get that same 'impact' o the acceleration?

Ny feedback would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to spend 2k and find out that some of the fun factor has been taken away.

Cheers, Toby

Suggest you head over to Prodrives website mate and take a look at the power and torque curves for the sti's PPP. Should tell you all you need to know!

i have a sti with ppp and the turbo comes in very strong, had a evo6rsx with 350bhp before this and the sti seems a lot more aggressive from standing well worth the money.

TSL with warranty their work for 12 months, depends how long ur warranty's got left.

ive got the 333 pack on my Sti 8 and its BLoody fantastic.

it only really voids the engine warranty, all other things would still be covered with subaru id presume and TSl cover the engine. jobs a gudden

I spoke to them about the upgrade and they stated they have done over 400 scoobs in the last few years since they started doing the pack and not had one go bang. so hope im not the first

tsl 333 is a good pack but please dont think that subaru will be understanding if you had a problem
everything is connected with the engine and they will not touch it if tsl has

clutch ,brakes, suspension, gearbox, wheels, cooling system all relevent to increased engine power
you have to accept this dumps the warranty

IIRC there was some case where some manufcaturer tried to void an entire warranty as a result of mods. The courts ruled that only the warranty on the parts directly effected by the mods would be void. Therefore, engine mods = no warranty on any engine parts or drivetrain (more power could easily kill clutch, gearbox, diff, driveshafts). Don't think the same argument would stack up for brakes, suspension, wheels etc - very hard to prove that engine mods could have directly responsible for seized rear caliper, knackered shock absorber etc. Difficult thing is determining exactly where to draw the line.

That's a much better way of describing what i was trying to say. That's what i was afraid of with the PPP. I love that neck snapping feeling, that's what made me keep my Scoob rather than swapping it for an M3. Maybe I should just leave it alone then.
