Default boost controller fitting?????

ive fitted an apexi AVC-R boost controller and have 2 problems!

1st - before fitting the car was running 0.8 bar boost. now it is only running at 0.5 bar!

2nd - do you have to leave the old boost solenoid connected to stop the engine check light coming on?

hi mate

have you set it up correctly?

and have you installed a fuel cut defender so that it will boost higher without cutting the fuel?

Sounds like you are getting actuator pressure only. I'd imagine the boost controller is not working the solenoid at all (I take it you have setup the AVCR and know what you are doing in regards to the settings)

i haven't got a fuel cut defender fitted yet but it was boosting 0.8 bar as standard. i have gone through all the instructions and set it up accordingly.
have set the duty to 65% adn it still only goes upto 0.56 on boost.

As I said sounds like you are getting actuator pressure only..

The 0.8bar is with the std solenoid bleeding air off.

Therefore you have no solenoid control over the avcr's solenoid and are running effectively open from turbo compressor to actuator.

On the avcr set it to off (you have A, B or off) and see if there is any change in boost. I'd imagine there's no communication (wiring) getting to the avcr's solenoid or you've plumbed the solenoid piping in wrong.
