New shape Impreza spotted at Nurburgring

Looks like these guys stumbled on the new STI, not just the WRX. Not sure STI pictures have been seen elsewhere
Seems that STI have lost the plot as well. Ugly wheels and the front spoiler lip doesnt help much either.

Dont know if anybody noticed the mention of the Tiptronic box. This is news to me.
Those are the best pictures Ive seen of the new model. Actually, let me rephrase that, they are the most complimentory pictures I have seen. Some of the pictures were from an angle of the front where the car really looks silly (not just ugly but silly). I like the new back - never did like the back of the current model.
The Corola like headlights are such a disapointment.....

Yeah, I hate to admit it but it's growing on me too. The side, in silver, reminds me of an A4 for some reason (other pics, not this one).
And the front is starting to look almost normal. Ish. Well. Er. Maybe
As for the gold wheels comment, you forgot the obligatory "grin, duck and run" after making a comment like that

Does anybody think that the old STi v5 rear wing will fit the new shape Impreza? How about the Prodrive? I have seen pictures of the WRX riced up with the Skyline rear wing, and it just didn't pass the sniff test.

It really is growing on me, these are definately the most complimentary pics I have seen. I like the new bulging wheel arches and even the lights don't look too bad on the STi. Still think they should ditch the gold wheels thought
Tacky, tacky, tacky.

Yeah, those are the most flattering photos so far. The STi looks almost okay from the front but, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, do something about that spoiler. Like throw it in a car-crusher, anything but leaving it on the boot lid.

harryh,
You obviously haven't seen the optional STi spoiler on the Subaru japan web-site. Now that is f****g awful.
Sorry if I offend anyone with the gold wheels comment, I just don't like them.

SWOLL,
if it's worse looking then I don't want to see it. Bring back Stefs "open face helmet shot" instead. Don't lets traumatise lots of poor innocent little kiddies with the horror of a worse looking spoiler, it could put them off high performance cars for good.

Scooby Senior
After seeing these pics last night, I was driving to work this morning & 2 cars in front.. I though "no it can't be" a new Scoob? I caught it up for a close look & guess what.. no Scoob - an M reg Daewoo Nexia booted version. The rear end is EXACTLY the same!!!!!

Robert,
According to EVO mag this month the price of second hand Imprezas is still dropping through the floor. It's being affected by the new model (wether we like it or not) and the fact that Imprezas are becoming more and more difficult to insure. They say for every potential buyer there are 3 cars on the market.
EVO reckons the only cars that might hold up OK are RB5's and other specials. They also reckon that Subaru are having real trouble selling there P1's. To be honest I couldn't bring myself to pay nearly £40,000 for a P1 WR when I could get a standard car from europe and a caterham superlight R for the same money.

I agree Dave, that white car does look like an RA, with the Roof vent and lack of side skirts...obviously some things will never change
I also liked the first image with the red MY01 WRX next to the Steel/Cool Grey MY99...interesting to compare them, gave me an idea of scale, and also made the old shape look old
Just noticed the brakes on the last shot of the silver Sti...mmm nice big red calipers, huge disks...Brembos?
