Well, you see 'em up at £16-£17 'ish, but as you'll find on from other posts around here they're about the fastest depriciating car around, and the simple truth is they 'aint that easy to shift either.
I'll probably get slagged for saying so, but I'd defo try for less than £16k for a standard car with no extra's, no PPP.
All it amounts to is loosing as least as possible when its your turn to sell it on, unless you're loaded in which case it wont matter about depriciation.

Just bought a STi three weeks ago, 53 plate - pentagon tinted glass, prodrive springs and a couple of other bits and paid £16,200 from a private sale! and it only had 11,500 miles on it!
Im well happy, great car and good price I thought.

After having many BMW and Mercedes cars I have to say that Subaru's are pretty good value actually.
My thoughts:
Firstly while I'm sure a lot of people will get used to the new shape STI is not really a completely new model is more of a facelift. Okay so it's got a bigger engine....... is it really going to make that much difference?
I personally think the new facelift model is a step backwards designwise the whole point of the Subaru is that is different. The new car looks too much like a seat and why would you want to destroy that aggressive air scoop front end.
I can see WRX's depreciating faster than an STI because of the lack of kit. Just look at the amount of equipment you get with an STI car. If you bought one for £27,000 of sure you would be a little bit upset to find a few months later is only worth 15 or £16,000 but if you buy a 53 plate STI for 16 for £17,000 I can't see that depreciating another £10,000 in year after all a 53 blob eye Subaru STI for £7,000 Why would anyone buy any other car? That's the cost of a few extras for a BMW.
I've learned the hard way buying a brand new car is not the way forward buying one that one or two years old is the best way.
